Avinash Dixit is an Indian American economist and emeritus professor at Princeton University whose research spans trade theory, game theory, and industrial organisation. He served as president of the Econometric Society and the American Economic Association, and codeveloped the influential Dixit Stiglitz model of monopolistic competition.
